I share a house with two other gentlemen.
Three guys renting a house together. We've been doing it for years.
Each of us is different in our own way.
We all work all the time. I have three jobs because I hate being in one place for too long.

My buddy only has one job but he works something like 75 hours a week. He doesn't have to work that much but he loves having fun, good food, and craft beer....and he's very generous.
Right now his shelf in the refrigerator is filled with bottles of Clown Shoes beer. The Good, the Bad, and the Unidragon. It's a Russian imperial stout which is something like 14% ABV. That shit will get you drunk quick. Anyone can grab one anytime. He's the kind of guy that would want you to drink it if you wanted it. I love that about him.
My other buddy has two jobs and he goes to school. He likes loud music. Our Homeowners Association does not like loud music. He's a cool guy to hang out with but he has a few quirks like using all of your detergent, or eating the last cupcake that he did not buy. It gets annoying but we work it out.
The only thing that we all really agree on is that we hate loud noises late at night. It's great that we're all able to agree on that, because no one does laundry late at night, or play loud music, or watch movies in such a way as to annoy their neighbor. I say never but I pretty much mean not very often. We're all human.
Sometimes one of us will have a girl over. That can get awkward because it's kind of small house and we've crammed a lot of things into it. It's a great place for chilling, but it's hardly a vacation spot.
We have three giant couches in the main room with a little coffee table. We have a birdcage on that coffee table that each of us constantly puts something into. A rubber ducky. A demon statue. It's a fun game.
We have a Barbecue Pit outside with three lawn chairs set up. A little table in the middle is there to hold your beers.
Our small kitchen is enough for the three of us. Each of us likes to cook, and we all make different cuisine. It's kind of nice when we are in a sharing mood.......and it kind of sucks when we're not.
Most of us like to keep the air conditioning on very cold. The landlord controls the air conditioning with his nest app though, constantly raises it back up high. That's the strange thing that we can't figure out. It's not possible, apparently, to take control of the nest from a house that you are renting when the landlord owns it. Don't rent a house with a nest in it. Bad design, Reliant. Bad design.
I would say that renting a house with a couple of other guys is a much better idea than renting an apartment. It's cheaper, or about the same price, but you get a ton of space and a lot of freedom.
It's pretty nice.
