I looked to my left and noticed my garage door wide open!! I thought to myself, “I never opened the garage yesterday, did my wife, no!! Hmmm this is odd.
Then I checked my wife’s car and noticed the driver door wasnt closed completely. I opened it up and the driver seat was laid back and all the receipts and everything in the glove box was scattered all over the passenger side of the car. It’s like the thief needed to kick back a bit and rest and find some reading material.
Touchscreen DVD player is still there, and besides a big mess the only thing missing was the garage door opener. We don’t keep anything of importance in the cars.
Then I ventured into the garage to see if anything was missing in there. I have a ton of tools, a few bikes, computer, and a huge mess. Lol. Yet nothing was missing that I know of. None of my battery operated tools were gone, nothing!!
At this point things are getting really weird. The only thing missing so far is the garage door opener. Really?!?! Does this person plan on coming back? Well if he does I will be waiting for him, with a game camera and a .45
So I called the local police and they showed up and we discussed what had happened.
The officer proceeded tell me that someone about 2 blocks away, chased a guy out of his car and the theif dropped a bag full of phones, change, battery chargers, and some other miscellaneous stuff. Also that he stole a gun out of the guys car 😳😳
The officer then let me see what was found in this bag the thief was carrying. He just got a picture from someone at the station that was goin through the bag.
Oh and looky there, my garage door opener. The officer ran to the station and brought me the opener. Glad to have that back!!
This is very troubling since just about 2 months ago a similar situation happened to my neighbor, but they stole his car. Which he got back the next day. Thank god.
We never used to lock our cars, never thought we had to worry about this sort of thing. Our nice quiet neighborhood seems to have turned into a target area.
Then I start wondering if the theif ventured inside my house through the garage?? Or maybe when he took the opener, he accidentally hit the button and it scared him off. Either way this gives me such a terrible feeling that nothing or no one is safe, considering this theif now has a gun.
Well hopefully this guy doesn’t come back, because I will be ready for him.
Maybe I should bait him in.
Set a bike outside and tie it off the the car, then when the game camera goes off, it will give me enough time to scare the living crap out of this dude as I chase him down the street cocking my 12 gauge shotgun.
Dah ha ha ha.
