In my Part I of this write up, a lot of Issues were raised and many questions unanswered. Let us address a few of the issues and unanswered questions in the article under review.
Before the On-set of Flood, What do we do? But before then, let us take a look at havocs wrecked by flood disasters in various degrees:
Have a look at the ship, boat and other wreckages caused by flood disaster and desertification in poor countries of the world. The after mat of this is that people displaced from their homes have no other alternative than to look for some means of livelihood. Many end of miscreants, roaming the streets in hunger. For example, the 'alimageris' are everywhere now. These are children given birth by parents who could not effectively take care of them but abandon them to one man who could barely feed himself and his numerous wives, how much more taking care of other people's children; pick pockets, who are found almost in all our streets; armed bandits almost everywhere you go, school drop-outs as many schools and places of learning have been taken up by floods; free-street-girls (prostitutes) due to lack of parental care or poor background caused by hardship placed on parents and rendering them incapacitated to take care of their young growing girls; increased infant morbidity, maternal and mortality rate, as a result of lack of proper health care facilities for mothers of child bearing ages, their babies and unborn children. Some of the above seneriously affect both developed and underdeveloped countries of the world. They become nuisance to the society, contributing nothing but sleepless nights because no one knows when they will strike and who will be the next target.
Happy viewing:
A homeless society:
An unstable and unsettled society caused by flood disaster:
A whole area overtaken by the flood: schools, hospitals or health facilities, markets/supermarkets, shopping malls, name it are all in this flood swallowed buildings, my God! This is becoming worrisome:
Flood had made some roads impassable and had communities cut off from where they buy and sell their wares, thereby making them uneconomically imbalanced. It is among these rubles and areas that malnourished children and adults looking haggard and unkempt left their home for safety due to lack of proper feeding, lack of drinkable water in Displaced Peoples' (IDPs) Camps; as almost all the streams and rivers around them have been polluted by all the impurities that came with the flood.
Take a look at these wreckages, suffered by our people in an attempt to run away from areas affected by natural disasters, human shortcomings and failures by our leaders to make adequate preparation for the rainy day; just watch these:
Also take a look at these survivors of a ship wreck, don’t they deserve to be pitied in every respect of the word pity? I am appealing to your consciences to assist, where possible as those of us in the paramilitary organizations, who always lend helping hands in times of disasters, are handicapped by funds, aids and other necessities of life, to give them a meaningful, long lasting assistants that will last them a life time and improved healthy living.

ANXIETIES
Sometimes families and relatives of natural disasters are left in doubt as to whether their relations are alive or not. Anxieties then became their food as many of them go without food for days in search of their un-rescued relatives, buried deep under the bottomless belly of the sea where the mishap had occurred.
For example:
Please open your eyes and see what our people are going through in the hands of Natural Disasters. This is only a little drop of water in the mighty ocean.
After flooding, we need to do the following:
- Starting Out
- Loss Assessment
- Cleaning up of houses
- Drying out
- Repairs of damaged properties, personal effects and others
- Restoration of Services
- In the garden, etc.
God help us and save us from untimely and unprepared disasters and death. We need do something now because we do not know where we find ourselves tomorrow so that the entire universe will be a better place, where we can be safe to travel to at any time, any day and more especially safely without any doom for us and our lovely families.
Meanwhile, I thank you all who had read through Part I and those who are yet to read it. I also want to thank you for reading this very important story of how our people have wept.
POOWAI – It’s an accident, my God multiple accident. Chei!!!!!!!!!
