The weather here hasn't been to bad, no rain so thought I best go and check how all my plants are doing. I have 3 gardens to check, one in the front of the house a long side garden then a decked area in the back. We never used to use the back garden as was a pain getting out there, 2 years ago I changed that by getting French Doors, plus got the back garden decked so we can use it, before it was like a wilderness that was ignored by the previous tenants. I can see my plants from my seat, so can see if there is any changes.
We moved in here just over 30 years ago, I didn't get into doing my garden until the last few years, we paved over everything then left it. I started pot gardening a few years ago which has grown quite big. Around 10 years ago I bought myself a Buxus bush, to go in my front garden hoping it would grow. The bush soon filled the container and looked really good.
The top photo is how my gorgeous bush looked then through the isolation and hot weather the bush in the 2nd photo looks like it is burnt then to my surprise after keeping it watered and lots of crossed fingers it looks like my gorgeous bush is fighting back.
I am over the moon seeing the green leaves showing through the burnt bush, I see more green every time I see it. I am going to wait until the end of the season then try and cut away as many burnt branches as I can.
Another little surprise I found was the Bee's that were busy on my Sunflowers, I love to watch them working especially when they are on flowers I have grown. I caught the first Bee that was enjoying my Topolino Sunflower, he wasn't bothered about the camera and silly human watching him, he was hard at work collecting Pollen.
He stuck around for quite some time, ignoring me just minding his own business when another Bee landed and started working with him, they both seemed happy on my little Sunflower pollinating and spreading the love.
They seem to love the small Sunflowers, I have two different varieties growing The Topolino and Teddy Bear, these grow to a tall 12 inches no here near the ordinary Sunflowers that grow really tall mine have passed 7ft. They decorate the base of the pot whilst the tall Sunflowers decorate your view when you look upwards. I will be growing quite a few pots of the small Sunflowers all depending on how many seeds I can harvest from them.
I haven't done anything else today, I am in a lot of pain with my knee, its causing me a lot of problems, nothing I now the Doctors can do a they have operated 9 times and still its no better plus now I have nerve damage on the side of my knee so no more slicing it open. All I can do is take pain medication and apply pain patches. I have asked for the knee to be removed as its useless sadly they have said with me having trouble for a very long time I would probably start feeling phantom pain which they can't give medication for that a I would have no knee, Looks like I am stuck with it. Its now bedtime, pain patch time.
