In my last post, I discussed how important your attention span could be. It can improve the relationships around you and help you get closer to your goals. Here are ways you can improve your attention span. So you struggle much less.
Set A Timer
This is a method I use all the time If I need to focus on reading a book, Working on Shirt designs, Or Steemit posts. I'll grab a cheap kitchen timer Set it for 10-30 minutes and just go for it. The constant "clicking" sound keeps me on task. And reminds me to keep working. You can use this, or even the Pomodoro Technique to get things done, and maintain your attention on your desired project. Just don't do it as a way of focusing on other peoples talking, That might come off as a little weird LOL.
Force Yourself To Focus
Forcing yourself to focus is a great way to practice it. When you force yourself to do something, Like go for a jog. You start to build up endurance and get better at it.
It's just like with focusing When you force yourself to focus on something for long periods of time. Then you start to get better at it.
Gradually, Sometimes it can be a hard thing to do at. First, you'll find your mind drifting. But when you force yourself to keep focusing then you'll get better at it.
Take Responsibility For It
The bad thing about these "disorders" Like Adhd, Add coming up, Is it gives people an excuse to NOT pay attention. I'm guilty of using this too as a way to allow myself to NOT improve my focus and paying attention to things that aren't as important.
And what has this done to my brain?
I've become a lot worse. My ability to focus has become bad.
And I'm to blame for that.
If you suck at something, Don't use any "Problem." As a crutch. Keep pressing on and practicing to improve it. Take full responsibility for your inability to do something. Even if you do have something like a disorder making things more difficult for you. You can still make improvements no matter what!
