I remember back in the early days of YouTube, no one even wanted to be associated with doxxing or even defend the practice. Nowadays, it seems times have changed and people have forgotten why doxxing is such a horrible act.
No one should ever be doxed. Even if you truly believe they deserve it, doxxing hurts not only that individual but their family. Their careers suffer and it could hurt their children if they have any. That's the real problem with Doxxing. It has real-life consequences that aren't just limited to that one individual.
I have friends on youtube who own small businesses and they know clients who will Google a potential subcontractor owner's name just to see what comes up. Legally they can't discriminate and not hire their company based on anything they do in their private life but it doesn't stop them from doing so. A small business owner would have no way of proving that doxxing played a part in the client’s choice to not hire them. If they were doxed, it wouldn't just hurt them, it could hurt all of the people that worked for them as well. Not to mention that most of their ties will lead to their family's home.
There are so many reasons people may choose to be anonymous and it's not up to them to explain themselves and it's not up to you to judge whether or not they're worthy of anonymity. If there's legal matters like slander coming from somebody who's anonymous, don't post their private information for everyone to see. Contact them privately and use the info as leverage or threaten legal action. There's absolutely no reason to take matters into your own hands by doxxing them.
