Ever heard of someone sneaking an omelette into a movie theater? If you haven't then you should meet my husband. I learned early on in our relationship that I can't take my husband to the movies. He finds it impossible to behave. From sneaking foods in to talking loud, my husband is horrible to go to theaters with.
My Ticket Scrapbooking Pages
Star Wars Episode VII – The Force Awakens
We bought tickets for Christmas Day to see Star Wars. Part of our family was missing for the holiday so we got the tickets as a gift for my brother and my mom and we went to the movies since we weren't having a family gathering. Before we went to the movie we went to Ihop for dinner. If we go out to dinner and a movie, @magic-sasquatch will save some of his dinner to sneak into the movie. He could easily eat his entire dinner at the restaurant but he likes having food while he watches a movie. He refuses to pay the high fee for popcorn.
This practice drives me crazy! There are some foods you shouldn't bring into a movie theater because it's obvious you snuck them in. I don't always enjoy breaking the rules and since I have social anxiety, my husband's need to break movie theater rules stresses me out. He likes to sneak in foods that smell or are noisy to eat. Typically it is something simple like a burger, candy, or a canned drink. I've learned never to go to a sit-down restaurant or he'll try to sneak ribs or some other big entree in the movie.
So at Ihop my husband orders an omelette with bacon and puts it in his to-go container which is pretty big. Somehow he managed to tuck his coat around it and snuck it into the theater. This was around the time of a movie theater shooting and I was paranoid a security guard would look at this coat wadded up in his arms looking awkward and would stop him for being suspicious. He got in with his contraband and waited until the lights darkened to start eating. The smell of bacon wafted everywhere and he was the only person who had a plastic knife and fork eating a meal. He really doesn't know Star Wars and kept asking me questions about who people were which at times made the surrounding audience members laugh.
Les Misérables
Biggest mistake ever...my husband hates musicals. I was super excited for this movie because I LOVE musicals. It was also out around Christmas time and I really wanted to see it. My husband wouldn't stop complaining about all the singing. I guess he thought there would be an element of talking but nope...whole thing was singing. This drove him nuts and the entire movie consisted of me hushing him as he cracked jokes about the movie. He got my evil eye after the movie. Years later I told him how much I wanted to see the movie and he said he didn't realize I wanted to see it so bad or he would have been better behaved.
X-Men Origins: Wolverine
He hated this movie. All these years later I still hear how much he hated this movie. It was the first movie we ever saw in a theater and he hasn't forgotten how much he disliked it. At least he will always remember our first movie date.
Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince

I love Harry Potter. My husband and I went to see the Half Blood Prince in 2009. As you can see on the ticket it says "child." Now I'm pretty petite and when I was in my early 20s I could pass for a kid. I hated it when people thought I was a kid. My husband randomly decided he wanted to save some money. When we got up to the ticket window he said he needed one adult and one child ticket and said I was his niece. He got the evil eye for that one.
Even years later we still talk about this moment and how mad I got at him for getting me a kids ticket on a date. The idea of uncle @magic-sasquatch cuddling with his underage niece at the movies is a memory we'll have forever.
The Only Theater Movie He Truly Loved
There is only movie that truly went great and that was Drag Me To Hell. It was a great horror movie to watch in theaters and is the only time we saw a movie twice.
We finally moved to a place that has drive-in theaters where you watch the movie in the car. Thankfully for those you can bring your own food and drinks which saves me a lot of stress when we want to see a new movie.
