Sorry. That was probably the worst joke that I have ever come up with.
The Fringe Festival has arrived in Adelaide!
This time of year is awesome in Adelaide with all of our festivals starting virtually at the same time. We have the Adelaide Arts festival or whatever it’s called which is a whole load of plays and music and stuff, then we have the Fringe which is one of the coolest festivals in the country with tonnes of alternative style shows, comedy, music, weird and wonderful stuff and lots of other fun things, and then we have Womadelaide which is an amazing world music festival.
The funny thing is that Adelaide calls itself the Festival State. Even though, by April, pretty much all of our festivals are done for the year. So maybe we should call ourselves; The Festivals for Three Months of the Year State.
So at this time of year Adelaide becomes this amazing and lively city with so much going on. It’s extremely infectious and I find myself blowing a tonne of money on shows, eating out, and booze. I never regret it though.
The image at the top of this post is actually a video that was being projected onto a water fountain on the Torrens River as part of the Fringe opening celebration last night. It was quite amazing to watch.
Have a great weekend everyone!
