TLDR: I convinced Chris De Burgh to Sing Lady in Red on TikTok to promote HIVE!
And it's happening tonight!!
What?! I know, it's crazy. It's unbelievable but I tell you, it is only unbelievable if you don't believe so let's start believin' and read on to find out just how I managed to convince the legend that is Chris De Burgh to sing Lady In Red whilst dancing around a great big inflatable HIVE logo... On TikTok!
I am so excited. This is the culmination of a project I have been working on for a very long time!!
No, not the long-awaited, highly collectable BoomTown NFT GIFS featuring yours truly in a variety of naked poses in various City scenes. (Including the incredibly rare and valuable "Naked at a Bus Stop" NFT. You might have noticed I have been a little quiet of late. Why was this? I will tell you... It was because of the work I was putting in behind the scenes on my amazing but secret Hive promotion project. Let me give you a bit of background. Despite my fondness for Death Metal, I have long been a fan of the inestimable Chris De'Burgh. Especially the lord of songs: Lady in Red. There is something about that song that is timeless and has meanings on so many levels that to listen to it you practically need your own elevator. When Hive was born I kept imagining our Blockchain as a Lady in Red for the modern world. Sometimes singing the song for hours and hours throughout the night as I slept. It was a glorious time. Throughout the many years of our illustrious home that we call Hive I have tried to promote the chain in many ways. Most of which involve pestering whales for large delegations to self-vote my own sock-puppet accounts or putting forward vaguely worded proposals for 1000 HBD a day with words in them like Revolutionary... Security... Trust and Mass Adoption. But it was only at the start of the year when I started Why not get Chris De Burgh to reboot Lady in Red for Hive? You wouldn't even have to change any of the lyrics, just get the old geezer to dance around a giant inflatable HIVE logo and put a few shorts up on TikTok. It would be a guaranteed hit. Not just for us but to get the old man a resurgence in his career as he dims out into a slow, cold and no doubt lonely death. And thus I made it my mission. First I had to contact the bastard. This was surprisingly easy, a quick google and I discovered that the 21st-century way of approaching people you don't know was to slide into their DMs So I did. I DM'd him on Twitter... Chris, fancy earning a bit on the side with a 21st Century Blockchain Collaboration? We will give you a twenty per cent cut of the Airdrop. Much to my astonishment, he answered almost immediately! Big Dawg, I am in, is it possible the airdrop can be paid in SHIB? I laughed when I read that and tapped out my reply. Chris, this is Blockchain. Anything is possible. In no time at all, we were going back and forth arranging the details. After much haggling and calling each other chum (he's old school) we settled on him receiving 1 million SHIBA INU and two packets of pickled onion crisps for his dog. We had a deal! So we set about making it happen and that is why I am proud to announce that we have completed it and are going live tonight! He has re-recorded Lady in Red!! Big up the little Christoburger! This has taken many hours of intense effort to organise and release on TikTok but we got there in the end and we will be streaming live on April the 1st at 7PM. I have included the link below to watch the live stream. I hope you can all join me and Chris tonight, LIVE ON TIKTOK! https://www.tiktok.com/@chrisdeburgh/ladyinredforhive/7114791134538984299822?lang=en Get yer Spacesuit, Hive is going to the MOON!!
I won't tell you what I am waving the bus down with, its a surprise!
stalking following the incredible Mr De Burgh on Tik Tok so that I could marvel at his still nimble dance moves that the idea occurred to me.
