I've been bumbling around with a couple new projects here recently, and I finally see a little potential coming out of them! Now we're talkin'. First, as you will see in the picture below, I finally learned & successfully made my first tumblers out of empty wine bottles! As usual, come to find out, nothing rolls out as easy as people make it look on their videos. I knew this going in, but some major trial and error here. Sometimes I wonder if the people making the videos really even did it the way they seem to present it. Anyways, They are awesome! This one was hand sanded, along with a couple others, but I finally dug my Rotary tool out of storage, and I think it will help cut down on time spent. Also, plan on clear coating them before use to help hold the letters. I'm sure I will be making plenty more glass things in the future, and sharing with y'all, this was fun. Next up, I've been germinating seeds for the first time, and we have results!!🌱🌱🌱
They wanted to get in on the photoshoot! Meet my first plants from seed! There are just four that germinated out of the batch, but that is awesome still! I have since started a successful batch of radishes that seem to be coming along well, and it looks like the Marigolds from Mimi's funeral are peaking trough the dirt, but these beautiful little babies are zucchini! I'm just learning as I go, and excited to already be getting results. Any tips and tricks are gratefully appreciated, in advance! This whole growing life, living off the planet we owe our appreciation to, and providing for friends & family in a way, deeper than just buying food and cooking it, is amazing! Skipping all the conversations about that status of market produce in the US of A, this is love and tender care for awhile leading up to the meal, which I can't wait for the first little harvest and the first full meal made out of dirt, water, seed, love, and patience. It's just too cool. So anyways, I have had my hands full with some cool stuff and also staying on top of the Food Rave concept I discussed here: !First Vlog! Do You Love Food Raves?!
Here is a preview of the outside of the table tents I want to make to advertise our events inside the restaurant portion of the venue. Now it's just a draft, but I think I like it so far. I will do plenty to make everything pop after we get the lay out decided on as a team. Not sure if I ever updated everyone, but Live Bait, a local restaurant entertainment venue, since accepted the pitch for a "Food Rave" style event in their back bar/club building. It's actually one of the best spots on The Island to host something like this. Big enough to fit a hundred people with plenty of space but some what intimate without being in a dark closed off both. They already have a kitchen. There is a mechanical shark on the front deck for those feeling crazy, along with being directly across the street from The Beach and our largest brand of local condominiums,The Phoenix I-V (there are another ten touting the same name). Anyways, point being, I'm super excited and our first dinner is set on May 10th! Currently waiting on the reps and GM to determine the cocktail selection, so the menu can be forged, and tickets can sell out! We have a great concept, promising to breed social connections thru art, charity, support, great food, and the smoothest DJ sets in town! Look out Pleasure Island, it's time to chill and catch some vibes.🎼🎵🎶🎷
