Why 30 day challenge?
I have been in a rut lately as I quit my job a little over a month ago due to minor health reasons that I still need to deal with and it left me with a lot of time on my hands, time that I wasted rotting in bed, on Social media and being unproductive in all areas of my life. Slowly I picked up reading again after a long break, I also started to really enjoy creating content for Instagram and Tik Tok as a way to express myself and even though I felt tiny bit better about myself, I realized I really need something to push me more and get me on track again.
As the weather is finally getting nicer - we had long periods of rainy and gloomy weather that felt more like Fall rather than Spring - now it's sunny and warm and it makes me ten times more alive, it's like I am also coming back to life together with nature. Spring always has this effect on me and that was also a big reason why I thought a challenge like this is perfect to start now.
Breakdown of my goals for these 30 days
I have decided to go for four primary goals and three secondary goals - this way I can include everything I want to do or change but there is some difference in priorities. After a big brain dump, I picked these goals as main focuses and some of them are more like routines or small changes I want to implement but I believe that they make a big difference and are a stepping stone for bigger goals that might come later on.
Primary goals
- I'll keep this one a secret
- Simple morning routine + half my screen time usage
- Body movement 5-6 times a week - 5k steps minimum, bike ride or stretch/light exercise at home
- Social media, blog and UGC - I have specific and detailed plan on how much I want to post on each platform and other specific goals for this category
Secondary goals:
- Reading - finish 5 books during this period of time including Atomic habits
- Drink minimum 2 liters of water every day
- Another goal I'll keep as a secret, don't mind me :)
I also made a list of things I need/want to do, some of them I have been procrastinating on for a while now... Some of these things are a full declutter of my belongings, mainly focusing on clothes, take some clothes I have sitting around to the recycling, go through my laptop as it's getting full and delete everything I don't need anymore...
I think that would be all for this post, my day one is going pretty well so far and I am quite happy about it. There's definitely some adjusting to do and I could definitely use better time management but I am trying not to beat myself up about it and just make those adjustments as days go by. As I am quite a visual person, I also made a mini vision board and days countdown which is also a reminder for me to stay on track and not give up as I did many times attempting challenges like this.
