Most days I have three haters.
Some days I have more.
If it truly bothered me,
I'd exit through the door.
If everyone likes you,
you're doing it wrong.
So I won't be apologizing,
for this stupid song.
I can't call this a poem.
That would make poets mad.
But I will continue to rhyme,
even though my rhymes are bad.
One could always improve.
Especially during times like these.
But I don't fucking feel like it,
and shall only do as I please.
There are better things in life,
than to care about imperfections.
But if you decided to try on my shoes,
you wouldn't dare seek out reflections.
No problems on the outside.
It must all be in my head.
A few frowns and downvotes can't hurt me,
because I'm already dead.
A constant struggle with existence.
All they want is good news.
Took everyone this long to find out,
I was only singing the blues.

Why Is It...
After nearly four years of doing this, I still see debates over what 'quality' or 'valuable' content is?
What is your least favorite genre of music? Since many could be reading this, the answer is everything.
Everything literally sucks ass; but combined it all makes billions of dollars.
What movie did you hate this year? Again, since everyone is answering, that means all movies sucked. Combined, movies made billions this year.
Do you like everything on Netflix? Of course not but because of the variety of content and variety of personal preference, Netflix made billions this year.
Books, magazines, newspapers. According to us, much of that wasn't good enough but they still made billions.
That's all content. Majority of the content on Youtube sucks but they made billions as well. Majority of the content of Facebook doesn't even get seen and they made billions.
Most fast food burgers are fucking terrible! Billions.
Be happy the genuine content you don't like is on this platform. Expect more.
Are you concerned about what all the people living in your neighborhood do for work? No.
As long as they're not out being drunk and taking shits on the street, never mowing the lawn, bringing your property value down, you're happy.
Pay attention to what you personally enjoy. Embrace it. Can't find it?
Look harder.
You're getting paid to find and support it.
Sure, other platforms might feed you with suggestions but they don't pay you for consuming that perfect opportunity to lose even more time of your life you'll never get back.
Don't like long form content because you don't have time? Then carry on, spending that exact same amount of time you don't have or more, enjoying short form, as you push far more buttons to access and support it all.
It's your time. You're being paid to consume; and even if it's only a little bit that's still far more than anywhere else.
This platform could explode (in a good way) at any moment. I've been through this before. Gone is that small town mentality where everyone knows everybody and the neighbors are gawking over the fence.
I know right now majority of the creators here are dying for more genuine consumers. We don't need to use tricks and gimmicks to attract these people. A variety of content and the fact they can earn by simply enjoying what they like isn't a tough sell.
Like most here, I've been experiencing this massive increase in token value. I wonder if these people even know they can earn far more than a chance at an airdrop, simply by sitting on their goddamn asses and enjoying themselves...
I can already guarantee many of them will not be suitable for the role of, content creator.
For years, Steem was basically a stage full of performers and that stage was surrounded by a stadium full of empty seats.
We gotta put butts in the seats.
"Hi. Mind if I pay you to sit here while you enjoy the performance? If you'd like to sit closer, simply pay more and I'll pay you more. Say something cool to me and I'll give you a free coffee. Deal?"
That sounds ridiculous until you realize it's the truth. 100% totally fact.
People complain.
- It's difficult to get noticed.
- Not earning enough for the effort put in.
- Same folks showing up consistently on the trending page.
More consumers with skin in the game solves all those problems. More eyes can see, stake in more hands can pay, more say in what rises to the top means more get to play in what's trending today.
Leave it all up to a small handful of people and you'll get a small handful of results.
Creators and consumers are two different breeds. One comes to make money and must be outnumbered by those who come to spend.
Due to this recent pump, many have already spent. Now will they simply dump in a panic, because they didn't win the airdrop promotion, and don't know they could earn more by holding and having fun?
Will they assume they have to be content producers, and fail due to lack of consumers, then attempt to abuse the reward pool, leading to downvotes, then the whining, toxicity, downvote wars, then finally selling and leaving? All because they didn't know about a more suitable role. An important role. A well respected role. That one time when it's okay to sit on your ass and make money while you're daydreaming at work about being bored of your job...
Does the wisdom of the crowd lack wisdom?
When this thriving Hive community split from Steem, nearly everyone with a brain came along for the ride. A wealth of experience makes this platform rich.
Forgetting to attract consumers again would be a shitty deal...
Amirite?
P.S. If you were a consumer, would you buy a shit post? Think about it.
