I am far from being a Philanthropist, i'm no billionaire and the lives i have touched so far are too meagre to be proud of to call myself a giver. And i understand that people who do nothing gets no criticism, the few ones who tries to make an impact gets all the spites, insults and disrespect. Its the fault in humanity that will linger on for generations to come.
But helping people in dire needs shouldn't be for the rich and the extremely wealthy, its about making impact with the little we have or being the bridge that connects the needy and the wealthy.
The Makoko project together with my team mates stands as the bridge between wealth(the Blockchain) and basic needs(education is a basic necessity) as well as the little catalyst that brings actions. As stated in this publication REACTIVATING MAKOKO A BLOCKCHAIN PROMISE UNFULFILLED, it was a project that was kicked off in 2018 before the long Bullrun kicked in, we ran out of funds, resources and benefactors hence the project died off. It is sad as well as disheartening to get messages and feedback of fraud even with the little evidence of the project we provided as we were on a constraint of no media(photos and videos) in the heart of the floating community.
Our total budget is little below $10,000 and 1 #Bitcoin is enough to execute the whole rebuilding of the school and gifting them educational materials. As it stands, the donation gotten so far is not up to a $100, but we won't let that deter us and the good intended in this whole project. But then, we promise to refund our donors if the targeted amount is not realized. In addition, we intend to make update on progress, if there is any.
