Falling into the prey of negative thinking can be very easy for any human being! Negative thoughts can only bring you pain and I am sure many of us can relate to that! I've experienced that many times in my life too!
These negative thoughts sucks up all of your energy and makes you forget that you are living in the present moment! And the more you give in your negative thoughts, the more powerful they become!
A small negative thought can turn into a monster literally! On the contrary , a single tiny positive thought can have the same effect evolving into a wonderful result!
When you start having negative thoughts, it is really very hard to stop them and as it is usually said it's much easier said than done to shift your focus to positive thoughts!
But if you want to come back on the right track to avoid going down a path that is painful and unnecessary, you have to overcome these negative thoughts as soon as possible!
Let's discover some of the things I did personally that really helped to overcome my negative thoughts that you can try also!
Surround yourself with positive people.
When you are stuck in this negative spiral, engage with people who can put things into perspective and won't further feed your negative thinking!
There are many people out there who will give you constructive yet loving feedback, approach them!
Help someone.
Just take the focus away from you and make something nice for another person! Go out, help someone else in difficulty, this will surely clear your mind of many things and you will feel better for helping out someone else.
You can also prepare some food and donate to the poor, it forms part of one of the greatest act of Humanity.
Remember that no one is perfect and let yourself move forward.
Dwelling on your mistakes is so easy! You will waste so much time and feel terrible too!
The best thing to do is learn from your mistakes and move forward.
Smile.
If needed, bring yourself in front of a mirror and force yourself to smile! It really does help change your mood and relieve stress. You will also feel lighter because it takes fewer muscles to smile than to frown!!!
Don’t play the victim. You create your life—take responsibility.
Even if your living situation becomes unbearable, there will always be a way out. You will always have the choice to make change happen, if need be! It's your life afterall, take responsibility of it, make it beautiful!
List five things that you are grateful for right now.
By being grateful will help appreciate what you already have! List them and think about them! You'll see how much good this will do to you!
Read positive quotes.
Write short positive quotes on post-it notes too! Stuck them on your computer, fridge door, bed and mirror as reminders to stay positive!
Filling my head with more positive thoughts has made a huge change to how I see things and i feel a lot better since!
I'm sure if anyone is having some negative thoughts and put in practice some of the tips I gave above, he will surely find a way out of this terrible situation very soon!
