I'm pretty pumped today, because I just signed my first client to run Google search campaigns for. I've been working the past few months doing social media marketing for some small businesses, mostly through Facebook, and that's a cool business, but doing search marketing for them is even cooler I think!
I already had the knowledge and experience needed to run Adwords campaigns for small businesses. I worked at an ad agency in Germany doing search campaigns for Hyatt hotels for nearly a year, and that was pretty awesome, but it's even better working for myself doing the same thing!
The business I signed is a hydroponics gardening center. The guy runs a small business selling and setting up for people everything they need to grow their own garden indoors. It's a growing business (pun intended) in California right now since recreational marijuana has been made legal! He is completely clueless about social and search advertising, so we're going to be a huge help to him and his business!
Now comes the hard work of setting up keyword lists and putting together campaigns, complete with headlines, descriptions and relevant landing pages for several different aspects of his business. It'll be a good learning experience for me, as I worked on campaigns in the past, and even set up some new campaigns, but never started a whole account from scratch! Wish me luck.
