Even though all of us human beings are intelligent in our own way, there are certain individuals that surpass all concepts of what we consider intelligent. The world knows these individuals as geniuses and they are usually a different breed altogether.
Over the centuries, many such geniuses have pushed the envelope to make possible the world we live in today. Of course everyone contributes to the advancement of the world in their own way, but geniuses have a much more profound effect.
The sad thing though is that they are also some of the most misunderstood people on the planet. And that is due to the very gifts that they possess that let them achieve heights no one thought could be achieved.
It must be really difficult to be taken amiss by your own fellow humans. For this post, I would like to talk about some of the reasons why that might be so.
They Think On A Whole Other Level
Ok, first things first. They think on a whole other level that others might not even begin to comprehend. Sometimes the ways in which they go about doing things can seem highly unintuitive and outright bizarre to others.
We humans tend to fear what we don't understand or at least stay away from it and when someone comes along who seems just like us but thinks in a totally different way, on a much higher level, that might freak people out.
The other problem with geniuses is that they are usually not able to explain their thought process in simple terms or might not be able to communicate it in a way that the others can understand. This would of course go over people's heads as they simply don't have the mental capacity to understand all of that. People might not even understand their sense of humour!
They Don't Care for Status Quo
Geniuses are always looking for change, to make things better, to search for solutions. And so, they see problems and inconsistencies everywhere. They are restless and are just not satisfied with anything that seems imperfect to them.
This is in stark contrast to most of the people who are happy with the status quo and the familiarity bubble. They simply can't comprehend the need to change so much or their obsession to keep making things better.
But it is also due to this very nature of geniuses that the world has seen so many profound advancements. Imagine if Albert Einstein or Nikola Tesla had not spent their whole lives thinking and figuring out how everything works and how it can be used to make humanity better.
It is due to their relentlessness that sometimes, the world and us with it, advance centuries into the future, in a matter of a few decades.
Highly Likely That They Like To Be Alone
Most geniuses love to be alone with their own thoughts. They would rather spend time in a room mulling over things or reading a book or trying to solve something than in what they might consider meaningless social interactions.
This gives them time to come up with innovative ideas and that's what's really important for them. As a wise person once said, "Great minds discuss ideas, average minds discuss events and small minds discuss people."
Such people are always looked at differently by the society in general, because their very nature makes them sort of 'anti-social'. Again, people misunderstand and fear what is different than to put in efforts to understand it.
