I would not have written about this topic had not I faced this today. I mean, the curry I prepared looked so gross that I did not even take a photo. Sometimes, we all make mistakes that certainly could have been avoided or at least saved.
Today morning, as usual, I started to make curries and in a hurry to enter my Sl battles and try to get one more chest, I decided to make Okra fry. Having washed the veggies and sliced the onions and a chilly, I heated the wok and seasoned the mustard seeds and fried the onions, and then added the okra pieces. After that, while it was being cooked, I decided to wash some dirty dishes. As it is with these things, the second I heard a frizzling sound, I rushed to see that the fries were almost turning black in color. I stopped the stove and transferred the contents to a dish but it was really charred and I had not even added the spices to it. Dang.

I could have avoided this mishap by sticking around to stir the curry and waiting patiently. The lack of patience and the hurry spoiled the curry. As Swamy always says, hurry, worry, and curry are the reasons for man's problems.
Kitchen mishaps can be avoided by making sure that we are a bit more careful when cooking. For example, when we are cooking with heated oil, always be careful to use a wok that is sturdy enough to hold the oil otherwise, there is always the chance for the oil to tip over and fall on us. One day, my brother was helping with the banana fritters and the wok turned over and the boiling oil fell on his foot. Thankfully, he rushed to wash his foot and it did not cause much damage.
When you have pets around, be careful that they do not enter the kitchen when you are cooking. I do not have a pet but recently, a stray cat entered our loft and jumped through, breaking the false ceiling of the old kitchen and falling on the stove tipping the oil and breaking every possible thing on its way in the attempt to escape. it was a very bad experience and it took a lot of time to clean the whole mess not to speak of buying another vacuum flask which had been broken.
If you have children around, always be careful because toddlers do not give notice of coming and may end up coming near when you are dealing with hot foods. The food may spill on the baby and cause problems. Also, if you are using a mixer grinder, entrust the child with another adult or a senior child and then cook.
When babies are around, always be double careful and it is worth all the trouble.
Many household accidents can be certainly avoided and even if it happens, be ready with a first aid kit that you can use without any delay. Life is full of challenges and parenting is a huge responsibility. So, do not take it lightly.
