In the nineteenth century, when the Methodist church was holding its denominational convention, one leader stood up and shared his vision and told everyone present that "a time will come, when man fly from place to place instead of travelling on horseback..
A minister, Bishop Wright, stood up and angrily shouted,
"Flight is reserved for the angels"
He further went on to explain that if God had intended for man to fly, he would have given him wings. Clearly, the bishop was unable to comprehend what the speaker was predicting.
When bishop Wright finished his little protest, he picked his son's "Orville and Wilbur" wright and left the auditorium.
Little did the bishop know his children were the destiny careers of that vision. Several years later, on December 17, 1903 those two sons did what there father called impossible. They recorded the first human flight..
Yesterday ended last night. So today it is more valuable to look ahead and prepare than to look back and regret.
Life cant be understood backward, but it must be lived forward. If past history were all that mattered, librarians would be the only successful people in the world. The past should only be viewed with gratitude for the good things. So look backward with gratitude and look forward with confidence. Your past is the start of a fresh start.
According to Meacham:
Keep your eyes on the road and use your dear mirror only to avoid trouble.
It's more valuable to look where you going than to see where you've been. Don't view your future only from the perspective of yesterday. It's too easy to limit everything and hinder the dream in you. Experience is the best answer to today's problem. Never build your future around your past. Your past is over.

Your future contains more happiness than any past you can remember.
A little bit of advice for all of us:
THOSE WHO TALK ABOUT THE PAST ARE GOING BACKWARD.
THOSE WHO TALK ABOUT THE PRESENT ARE USUALLY JUST MAINTAINING.
BUT THOSE WHO TALK ABOUT THE FUTURE ARE GROWING.
REMEMBER, THE MORE YOU LOOK BACKWARD, THE LESS YOU WILL SEE WHAT IS AHEAD FOR YOU.
