Whats the bike got to do with this?.
Would be a perfectly good question, nothing is the answer, I just bought it to cheer my miserable ass up.
New years eve, as you do. I sent out the usual texts wishing people the best. One came back with a very sad message!..
If you read what I write regularly, you may remember a post I did, with regards to meeting up with a fellow Brit in Warsaw and treating him to a concert, a tribute band to Pink Floyd and a hotel room each for the night.
Colin was his name you see. He returned the favor by giving me a book about Poland and places to see. He also gave me a book about Pink Floyd.
Colin was my first friend here in this strange country I am in, my first English speaking one anyway. Colin died 1st December 2018 is the message that returned to my phone!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I know Colin would approve of this post.
Colin opened up when I met him in Warsaw, it was like the floodgates opened on his life, he told me everything he could cram in to 1 night. And this is why my title reads as above - "Never leave it to late!"..........
Colin had been in an abusive relationship in the UK for 25 years. His ex wife also cheated on him numerous times. When his last child left home, and she cheated again, Colin moved out from her forever!....
He had a house in Spain, and his ex was making life difficult for him to sell it, and that is whilst he was here in Poland, with his new wife. That bitch made his life hell, and he wished he had left her 20 years ago.
Whilst free here and living on a pension, Colin was hard pushed for cash, hence me treating him to that night out in Warsaw, what are friends for right?.
He said if he could do it all again, it would be different, though hey, hindsight is a wonderful thing. My message to you the reader, is do it now, do what is best for you, and don't let it wait.
There is nothing stopping you from doing anything you want.
I once set off for Thailand with a camera and a small bag of clothes, around 2004. £800 was all I had with me or close to $1000 US. I bought a secondhand laptop, rented a room for 2 months at the Long stay Hotel in Jomtien Pattaya, and stayed there for a couple of years. Returning home with many thousands of £'s.
