Getting older has its advantages and disadvantages. Sometimes, life decides to roll everything into one bucket. You have to wake up enough before you sink to the bottom.

Reaching your arms out, you know you need to swim as your life depends on it because this time, it does. All those morels and teachings you believe in come into play. Your values are tested in ways you never thought possible. You look to the sky and ask the age-old question, "REALLY? God! REALLY?" and get the ancient response, 'This, too, shall pass.'

You are old enough to know that life is never fair. You try to look for the silver lining in each trial set before you as tears run down your face. You wonder for a split second if you are strong enough to last.

Your shoulders slump for a millisecond in your weakened state. Disspare tries to wiggle its way into your brain. You are old enough to realize if you give in to this feeling, you will be lost for eternity.

Lifting your head and holding it high, straightening your spine while taking a deep cleansing breath, you call on all you have learned in your time on this planet. You fill your soul with beaming light to help you make it through another day while whispering...

This, too, shall pass...
