We are back on the infamous Drake passage in 4m|12ft seas, which is quite calm for this body of water. However, it is simply a ‘warm-up’ from what is expected tomorrow ~ up to 8-9m|25-30ft!!! Even now, about half of our guests on board are nowhere to be seen, which I am making the assumption they are in their cabins due to feeling sea sick…. Not sure how they might be feeling tomorrow with the stronger winds arriving.

So today I took it upon myself to test to see at what angle and which deck would be great to get a good view of the M/V Island Sky cruising through big swell whilst in the Drake. Well, I happy to report the best one I found today was the observation deck on level 6 - the highest deck you can get on. I took a series of photos so you can all get a decent idea of what 4m|12ft seas in the Drake passage are like on a 90.6m|271ft vessel.
Tomorrow, as I mentioned earlier is the big, adventurous Drake day - hence why the vessel is currently at over 11knots in order to get in front of as much of this oncoming storm as possible. The one thing about the Drake days is that you get to catch up on rest and take lots of naps - Naps are awesome!!!
