I want to let go of fear, of hurt feelings, of stress, of judgement, of negativity, and of anything that I should not be carrying.
Most people think of the song, "Let it Go" from Disney's Frozen when they hear someone say "let it go." I do sometimes, too, but most of the time I think of Rob Thomas' song, "Little Wonders" from Disney's Meet the Robinsons (yes, I can relate almost everything in life to Disney movies). The beginning lyrics of the song are, "let it go, let it roll right off your shoulders. Don't you know, the hardest part is over." It's a soul balm song!
I am definitely better than I used to be, but I admit to letting things bother me, worry me, stress me out, etc., and not just letting it go.
It is liberating to literally let it go. When you are holding onto anything at all that is negative and bringing you down, just let it go! Let it roll of your shoulders! Don't be emotionally clogged -- just let it go!
"It doesn't take a lot of strength to hang on. It takes a lot of strength to let go." -J. C. Watts
“You will find that it is necessary to let things go; simply for the reason that they are heavy. So let them go, let go of them. I tie no weights to my ankles.” - C. JoyBell C.
The circumstances of your life may not be in your control, and if you're like me, always trying to feel a sense of control, that probably makes you feel crazy. But it's liberating to let go of the need for control. To let go of what you can't control and move on. It is within your control to let go of what you can't control.
