Hey so I hadn’t updated yet what happened after I went to apple for a Genius Bar appointment right?
I just want to share about it now.
The people were nice and all.
The laws were not.
TLDR:
My iPhone is a write off.

So I go to the appointment and they check everything with their tests.
It seems like everything is failing
- screen delay
- sound
- harptics
They then tell me, that because my phone is a Japanese model.
Because I bought my phone online from a retailer that imported from overseas, I have less warranty - only one year warranty.
And I had just passed that by 117 days..
If I had bought it in Australia it would be 2 years 😭
Another thing is, Japanese phones have strict laws on them.
So unfortunately they could not even replace me the exact model or a new model.
So my last option was a valuation guy.
He checked to see if my phone has any value.
5 points of check.
2 will fail it.
It only failed one!
It failed the button test - only the haptics though! (Ie the vibration that makes it feel like a button click)
He said unfortunately that test rendered the value to be zero!!!
There was nothing he could do.
They could take it and it would be melted down to metal...
He did say I could possibly sell it off as a private sale for parts.. lol.
And then these last few days I’ve been trying to do more fixes and tests on it.
The same problems still occurring:
Looping on apple if reset
No sound
No click of haptics
No Sound causing no receiving of calls or playing of any video.
Can’t take photos or videos on camera.
But I can still reset it completely and someone else can hopefully do something about it or take it apart.
The condition is immaculate. I’ve looked after it well - no broken anything or scratches and dents.
It may be a software issue to do with their latest update..
I Could hold off selling it till the next update and see if that makes any difference.
But I had to downgrade back to my hubby’s old iPhone 5s (3 generations before..) and that’s what I’m using to type right now... haha.
People have been trying to get me to jump ship to google pixel or Samsung android haha...
I have too much on apple- 250gb of data and media on their iCloud subscription.. and having to learn a new ecosystem can be hard!
I will see what the future brings.
But this is one of the things that has definitely caused a lot of stress and my stress rash is still there.
I’m still taking oral steroids which does make me go a bit hyped in the morning haha but crash after it wears off..
Well end rant.
