If it comes about gaining information, go and read books, google, search engines are always there for you like your perfect partner. You have many ways to learn it. But when it is about discovering yourself, finding out life’s logics, guessing out your inner being; talk and argue. Talk to yourself, get a person and argue with him but talk.
Chitchat is good exercise; healthy arguments are always good. All you need to do is get yourself a person who can argue with you, who can help you in rebuilding your logics, who can stretch your mind and bring most out of it. Trust me it is not very easy to have someone like this, getting a person like this is blessing.
Every now and then what happens is you constantly do things as per predefined set of rules in your life. We hardly sit and review it, we just do it, we are habitual of it. This is normal as well, human nature until someone force you to dig into it, dig deep into it. It is occasional to get it ticked on your own, a strong push from someone can force you to reconsider it.
Have a Good Argument with Yourself
You can study to argue with yourself. That’s in fact how we get a lot of thinking done. Let’s say you know that something you do some way and you try to find counter argument for it and decide which way is best. You just need to force yourself to be in a debater mindset and that is when you will explore yourself and you will run your life on your agenda rather than moving blindly. It comes with practice, to get control over your mind is something not easy to handle. You need to feed your mind continuously.
Someone with whom you can discuss
In the sense of get yourself someone with whom you can converse things, somebody who pay attention to you. It's really good to talk things through and I think you often find that you see gaps in logic when you say something out loud that before you never really voiced.
Get in touch with your inner child.
If you ever see small children, you will realize just how free they are and how little they care about what other people think of them. They are happy and in the moment that they want to enjoy. They do thinks what they want to do. So, discover a little kid inside you.
Become more alert of your thoughts.
You may be surprised by the number of negative thoughts that run through your mind on any given day. After so long, our reality begins to take shape based on all of these conditioned thinking patterns.
Follow your intuition.
This is perhaps one of the most central aspect in being yourself. I overlooked my insight for the longest time because I felt so indebted to others. Their happiness was more important than my own.
Sometime, you don’t need anyone else, you don’t need to talk to yourself, you don’t need to visualize conversations. All you have to do is write out your disagreement as if you were explaining it to someone else or write out your thinking as if you were explaining it to someone else.
