On 09/23/2020 I published a reflection titled Revisando un poco el desastre económico de Venezuela (original in Spanish) in which I commented on my impressions of the degree of collapse and devastation that the economy of the South American nation presented. There I said things like: This week the exchange between the official currency of Venezuela, the Bolívar, and the North American Dollar, reached a new historical milestone, everything indicates that it will reach the 400,000 barrier in a few days, just to understand, It should be mentioned that I remember that at the beginning of the year the change was in the order of 40,000, and with those values you can see how the situation has fallen. (original in Spanish) Well, I have news, we are as of 02/02/2021 and the dollar with respect to the Bolívar has a relationship according to the Central Bank of Venezuela that slightly exceeds Bs 1,800,000 for each USD $ 1... Yes, when you think things are bad, something like Murphy's Law always comes out to remind you that it is going to get worse. Everything indicates that 2021 will be another year of economic decline and devaluation of purchasing power, quality of life and even life expectancy... there are people I know who simply tell me with a calm that scares that there are enough people who will not survive to see the end of this disaster, they simply accept that hunger, decline and opportunistic diseases have even more opportunity to kill the Venezuelan population than the pandemic itself or the high levels of insecurity, which in the country it is an evil that has been increasing, but that last point already corresponds to another publication. |

El 23/09/2020 publiqué una reflexión titulada Revisando un poco el desastre económico de Venezuela en la que comentaba mis impresiones sobre el grado de colapso y devastación que presentaba la economía de la nación sudamericana. Allí dije cosas como: Esta semana el cambio entre la moneda oficial de Venezuela, el Bolívar, y el Dolar Norteamericano, llegó a un nuevo hito histórico, todo apunta que alcanzará en unos pocos días la barrera de los 400.000, solo para entender, hay que mencionar que recuerdo que a inicio de año el cambio estaba en el orden de los 40.000, ya con esos valores se puede ver como ha caído la situación. Bien, tengo noticias, estamos a la fecha 02/02/2021 y el dolar con respecto al Bolívar tiene una relación según el Banco Central de Venezuela que supera un poco los Bs 1.800.000 por cada USD$ 1... si, cuando crees que las cosas están mal, siempre sale algo parecido a la Ley de Murphy para recordarte que aún se va a poner peor. Todo apunta a que el 2021 será otro año mas de caída económica y devaluación del poder adquisitivo, de la calidad de vida e incluso de la esperanza de vida... hay gente que conozco que simplemente me dicen con una calma que asusta que hay bastante gente que no va a sobrevivir para ver el final de este desastre, simplemente aceptan que el hambre, la mengua y las enfermedades oportunistas, tienen incluso mas oportunidad de matar población venezolana que la misma pandemia o los altos niveles de inseguridad, que en país es un mal que ha ido en incremento, pero ese último punto ya corresponde a otra publicación. |
