So after the boy and I built a ramp for our dog Sadie, we dug into the shed and found some old treasures of mine. Sadie has been having some trouble getting around and the stairs don’t seem to be treating her to kindly these days. Anyway, a bit of a sore subject... So I unwrapped a bunch of my old insulators that I collected over the years. They mainly came from California, where I spent the first 9 years of my career as a Lineman. They still have some pretty old stuff down there to this day 😉

The majority of the small ones came from low voltage secondary lines and some from old railroad communication lines. Their colors vary slightly but I have 2 that are my “Prized Ones”

This one is actually 2 pieces put together using some sort of cement or epoxy. With a good eye you can tell... it is crooked. Human error always makes for a good collector piece.

I have 5 that have a patent date from 1920.... not sure if that was close to the year they were made but seeing a date has to stand for something...

My plan is to put them on some sort of display in my garage or something. I have some cool purplish-blue ones in the front flower bed that Mama-Splatts absolutely loves...

I am working on a few trades also. I know people who have some pretty sweet glass that I really would like to have for my collection. Stay tuned and I will keep you posted... Hive On
