Relationships Are Your Biggest Asset
People, do business with those they KNOW, LIKE, and TRUST...
So the more people get to know you, and you add value to the relationship...
The more success you will have with your internet marketing! Getting people to KNOW, LIKE, and TRUST you will make your marketing easier and more profitable.
How Do You Develop That Relationship?
Here are some rules that I live by that are designed to develop a very positive relationship
Be Honest - it is OK to be very positive about a product or service you are offering. It is not OK to misrepresent or lie about the product or service. It is best if you have actually used it.
Communicate Regularly -Whatever method you use to communicate with your subscribers, do it regularly. preferably 4-7 times a week. The internet is a wild, wild place that has a short memory. If you go for very long without communicating, you will be forgotten.
Ask for Feedback - get feedback from your subscribers on how you can improve or what they need. Making them feel part of a group keeps them involved. Make sure they know the feedback can be good or bad. Constructive criticism is very helpful to get better.
Recognize Contributors - Find ways to publically recognize subscribers that do something above and beyond. It can be a top producer if you have that type of business. Recognize a great feedback idea. However you recognize your subscribers, I would suggest you just use first name and last name initial. Use a picture if they are willing to provide one.
Offer Freebies - Occasionally give out some kind of an incentive. Maybe it is a free ebook, a discount coupon, or a relative cheatsheet/checklist.
Personalize Communication - how you do this depends on your autoresponder. You want your subscribers to feel like you are talking directly to them. Write your communications as you would talk to a friend.
Make Sure You Respond - If someone sends you a question, feedback or idea, respond to them personally. Let them know you recognized the input. Try and respond within 24 hours.
Don't Always Sell - I saved this for last but it is probably the most important. You do not just want to send "buys this" communications every single time. In fact, you don't even want to send it 50% of the time. The best ratio seems to be 20-25 % sales, 75-80% content. That being said your content communication can and should help your sales. Maybe you talk about a problem you had and how you solved it (product or service).
Monetize Everything - I know this sounds in direct conflict to *8 but you are trying to make money with your marketing. You can monetize without selling. Making a product or service name a link when it is used in your content is not selling. Having a link under your signature is not selling.
