Dolda means 'hidden' in Swedish, it refers to the way transactions are supposed to be private and cannot be traced. This one I made as an idea for the rebranding of zDash. Because many 'cool' brand names are already taken, registered trademarks, I often look at regular words in other languages, that have a nice ring to them. Spanish works for that, that is how came up with Mundo, for new stealth crypto. (And somehow I am expecting this one to become a real 'fiat' payment system, as part of an economic reset, like it was done with the Euro.) Esperanto even has a lot of potential when used for creating brandnames.
The most famous brandnames use quite simplistic symbols for their logo. Often mono-color and the brand name in a font that can work as a logo too. Creating a font for a brand is quite expensive, so it is great to know that there are Open Sourced fonts that are allowed to be used commercially too. For a logo that has to be done 'inbetween' there is a time limit, the developement of it in time needs to be profitable. In the case of zDash I just had a quick look at the website. Black, fork of zCash, hidden transactions advertised as main attraction. Started to type some text, choose Ubuntu Medium as a font. Color, first had a green-blue, but then decided to more towards business and payment: blue.
Name, had to refer to stealth in any way. And while I was playing around with the token DLD I came up with something that looked a bit like a Celtic knot. Complexity of that blockchain type, name Dolda, meaning hidding and sounding like 'Dollar'. The suggestive link made to advertise it, it is made to pay, in a hidden way. (Somehow there is a credo in there I think...) Did some examples, a payment button idea. And hey presto, there it is.
It was fun, I love to do to these things, needs to be quick, not think about it for too long. First brainstorming on the subject between other things of the day. And then that moment when something pops up like "Aha!". Saved it, it is in the digital archive, so even if it not being used, it is still there, maybe for some future project, who knows.
Well, that is it, roughly how I go about these kind of things. Thank you for reading!
Have a great one!
Dolda, it is better than the Dollar!
