Manila Light Rail Transit System Line 4 or Ortigas-Taytay LRT Line is the proposed rapid transit to be built in Metro Manila and Rizal. It will be the second railway line to serve the province of Rizal after the extension of Line 2 to Antipolo.
It is consists of 13 stations and will have a right-of-way alignment along V. Mapa street in Manila, Shaw Boulevard, Ortigas Avenue and Taytay Diversion Road thus linking Taytay to the Ortigas Center in eastern Metro Manila. It will run from an interchange with Ortigas Station (MRT-3) at EDSA in Quezon City in the west to SM City in Dolores, Taytay in the east and passing through Pasig and Cainta.
It will be aligned along Ortigas Avenue with an option to extend as far as Angono on Manila East Road and in the west by either of the following terminals:
• Option 1: Interchange with Santa Mesa Railway Station (PNR Metro South Commuter Line) via ADB Avenue, Sheridan Street, Pioneer Street, Boni Avenue, Aglipay Street and Lubiran Street.
• Option 2: Interchange with V. Mapa LRT Station (LRT-2) via ADB Avenue, Shaw Boulevard, P. Sanchez Street and V. Mapa Street.
• Option 3: Interchange with Gilmore LRT Station (LRT-2) via a straight path along Ortigas Avenue in San Juan and western extension of Granada Street in Quezon City.
LRT-4 is signed by former president Benigno Aquino III last 2015 and no start of construction is confirmed yet though the completion date (June 2021) will be set under Private Public Partnership (PPP) program and group to a four-year construction period starting 2017 or later. The project is said to be in preparation by a Filipino businessman and Chinese firms.
