Entry number 5 for the #macrophoto-contest is the Red or Purple Radish (otherwise known as Daikon).
The micro version of the Radish still sports a spicy flavour however is more mild than it’s fully grown counterpart. It is also popular for it’s crunch texture and is popular to use in salads, sandwiches/wraps, soups/broths.
The health benefits of eating any microgreen is thought to much higher than the equivalent full grown species, however the radish is particularly high in folate which is believed to promote cardiovascular health as well as having potential anti-cancer properties.
