For the last few weeks, I have been working with a local herb grower in their greenhouse/glasshouse. They grow and sell fresh cut herbs, living potted herbs and micro herbs to a distributor who supplies several large supermarkets and popular restaurants around Adelaide.
There were so many wonderful herbs I had not seen before, so many bright colours and shapes, it’s been quite fascinating to learn about them.
I felt that the micro herbs would make perfect subjects for the #macrophoto-contest, so for my first entry here is Micro Bulls Blood (in the process of germinating, blue seed husks are still attached).
Micro Bulls Blood was one of the first microgreen varieties ever grown and is a common favourite for chefs to use due to its vibrant colour and earthy taste.
I used my Samsung Galaxy S9 to capture this image and sourced information from www.specialtyproduce.com.
