Esteban found out a few days ago I will be taking the ipad with me when I go to the UK at the end of this week for a 3 month job, creating a drone time-lapse construction film of the UK's most advanced solar farm.
He has come to love the ipad very much since I bought one to use with my drone two years ago and didn't take it well when I told him he would be without it for a length of time which is inconceivable to a child.
It should be noted that he wasn't angry for long and quickly returned to his routine.
Then as if by magic, this morning a piece of paper arrived through our letter box, offering us something along the lines of a cheap ipad... for free.
Okay, it's not 100% free. We have to subscribe to one of these magazines for a few euros and the device will be sent to us. Of course, it's not a real ipad and the quality of the product will likely be rubbish, but Esteban doesn't care. He just loves having his little window to the world, as do we all.
Naturally we would be foolish to turn down this offer and I am left smiling with the thought that he somehow played a part in resolving his little ipad problem.
This would not be the first time I have seen 'coincidences' gift him exactly what he is silently asking for and I continue to hold on to my belief that he has a heightened energy in his third eye, visible as a V shape on his forehead.
Devising games to help him develop his skills feels essential to me.
His sister Luna is clearly gifted too. She does not know I am going away. Yet she knows.
For the last two days she has not let go of me, desperate to continue hugging endlessly, screaming at the top of her voice if I put her down. It is beyond extreme and I've never seen her like this before, so can only assume she feels something intense.
As do I!
It is the first time I have ever left my family for such a long period of time.
Once I am into my job I will be fine, so the hardest part is now.
