The Steem blockchain is forever in flux, with new apps and novel ways of earning rewards.
It is therefore time to write a short guide on how you can help the Minnows Accelerator project (MAP) and earn some extra rewards at the same time.

MAP Rewarder
This is now the main focus of the @accelerator account. It aims to maximize rewards for SP delegators while at the same time supporting MAP members who publish quality content. It is, indeed, a balancing act, but we seem to be doing pretty well compared to other returns on Steemit. There is a full Introduction to MAP Rewarder so I won't repeat myself here.
However, if you are using your SP to the full and do not wish to delegate part of it, there are two other ways to support the MAP community.
Add @accelerator to Fanbase on SteemAuto
SteemAuto seems to be replacing the tasks previously done by Streemian: automating voting so that you can concentrate on creating and commenting. Fanbase is the equivalent of following an account's posts and upvoting them. Even if you are already following someone on Steemit, you need to add them again to Fanbase.

One very helpful feature on SteemAuto is the setting of a global limit on your voting power. The default is 70% and you can easily change this in your settings. This means that if your voting power falls below your set limit, then SteemAuto will stop your upvotes until it returns back above it.
So, on the SteemAuto Fanbase page, type in "accelerator" and it will create an auto-upvote for you. Then check the percentage upvote and the wait time; the defaults are 100% and 0 minutes - you don't want those! Well, 100% would be nice, though! Remember that there is a 30 minute reverse auction on upvoting new posts, so you may wish to set it at 30 minutes or, if there are many other upvoters, to something between 20 to 30 minutes.
Note that @accelerator publishes "Curated Resteems", "Tales from the MAP Room", "Six of the Best from our New Mapster" plus informational articles about the project and the Steem environment.
Add @accelerator as a Curation Trail on SteemAuto
A Curation Trail is where you follow @accelerator's upvotes - in contrast to the Fanbase that follows posts.
The primary aim of @accelerator is to manage the MAP Rewarder fund so as to give good returns to SP delegators and to grow its own account so as to support MAP members with upvotes. By following our Curation Trail you will be mirroring our own upvotes so that you should see an increase in your own curation rewards. Note that this part of our mission is based purely on financials and makes no claims to "quality". Our "quality content" upvotes will soon be done by our @aakom account but are currently managed by @rycharde.

Note that when you follow a Curation Trail, you can set your upvote percentage as a fixed amount or a scaled value. The scaling is useful so that your upvotes are proportional to those of MAP Rewarder. For example, if you set the scaling to 40% and @accelerator upvotes a post by 12%, then your upvote will be 40% of 12%, which is 4.8%. As explained under Fanbase, setting your global voting power limit will stop any upvotes if you fall below your stated threshold.
So, three ways to both support the MAP and make some extra rewards for yourself!

Please Comment, Resteem and Upvote. Thanks!
