Many people have made fun of Matt Damon for giving his face to a giant crypto.com ad a few years ago. The entire message was that "Fortune favors the brave." Many people have given him crap for doing the ad, and recently he shared some thoughts about all of it in an interview. It is kind of interesting, because it shared light on quite a lot of stuff that we didn't know about.
First of all, Matt Damon said that everything he earned with the ads went to water.org, an organization he works with. In other words, he did the ad for welfare, especially after some poor years due to Covid and seeing that the organization needed money. So, that was his motivation.
So far it doesn't tell us a lot of good about crypto.com, just that Matt Damon did it for the money. But in the interview he later tells us that he shared this with crypto.com and do you know what they did? They gave an additional 1 million dollar to water.org for the work they are doing. Wasn't that a nice thing to do? Matt Damon was very grateful, and it sure means that he sees that crypto.com isn't a bad thing or people just out there to steal money.
All in all, I consider this to be a really nice thing and actually a really nice gesture from Crypto.com. What do you think?
