Sometimes a tiny thing in life can bring the utmost happiness. This afternoon, sitting on my comfort chair I can only recall my fresh memory of childhood. Back then life was so simple; minimal stuff could bring a ton of happiness.
Life goes on and we forget to recall those happy incidents. And now our perspective has drastically changed towards happiness. Maybe we've taken the definition in another means for granted. Today, I want to share something that can be considered as a simple but noteworthy happy incident of my earlier days. The days gone by but the feelings are still fresh.
"The tank has an automatic filtering system, so you don't need to worry about cleaning the tank every day. Once a week is recommended. Clean the whole tank by draining the water every 6 months or so."
I was listening intently to the salesperson describing the features of the new fish tank that arrived at the mall. I was very interested and thought all about the aquarium all through the walk home. I was wondering about how it would look and wondered how it would feel taking care of living animals that also can't survive out of water.
Then, one day, my elder brother surprised me by buying an aquarium. He had bought the exact model of the aquarium that I had seen the other day. I was ecstatic. He had also bought 20 fishes. The fishes weren't big. But they were very diverse and looked quite fascinating darting around in the aquarium.
They loaded the aquarium and filled it with the fishes and also various plants. Karim found that tending to the fish was very fun. It was fun to watch them darting around the plants in groups. Guests would acknowledge how beautiful the fishes looked. Children would watch the aquarium non-stop. I would watch the fish for hours at a time.
It has been a month since the aquarium was first bought. My routine now included feeding the fish right after brushing his teeth. I was feeding the fish but suddenly realized one of his fishes was bulging. I became very worried. What did this mean? Was I, perhaps, feeding them too much?
Wow! I witnessed 9 babies very delicately swung around at the bottom. I realized the bulging fish wasn't actually overfed. It was pregnant. The fish that was pregnant was a type of live-bearers. These fish didn't lay eggs outside. Rather, they kept the eggs inside themselves.
Then, when the babies started hatching, they quickly blew out all the babies. Both me and my brother were very excited about this. we moved the babies to a bucket for temporary storage.
I still can remember that happy moment of my life. It is still a fresh memory of mine to keep it green. Now I am in my thirties but still looking for something that is so simple to amaze myself!
Lets try to adore the tiny happiness brought by simple means. Thanks for stopping by...
