Memory Monday
Welcome to my new blog series traveling back in time to my younger/teen days, where I talk about different items, things, or events that I either had/experienced/wanted to experience, my thoughts and feelings throughout it all and what it meant to me.
The Land Before Time
How it started
It all started in my wee ages of around 4 – 6 years old where mum and dad would take us 3 kids out to dinner (5 of us now) and they had a creche there, so we could have a play around in while mum and dad had a play on the pokies (slot machines).
As a little kid it was of course, an amazing place to be with toys, movies, other kids to play with etc. It was there that The Land Before Time was put on and I instantly fell in love with it.
My memories
Hearing those dinosaurs talking for the first time and eventually seeing them working together to get through their little adventure, back to where they need to be, my heart was in it from start to finish. I don’t remember how many times I watched it there, but I know it was quite a few, along with other childhood favourites like Ferngully.
Years down the track and I would watch it again with as much happiness and excitement as the first time. The movie was done so well, then finding out there were more was just pure bliss.
To this day
It has always been a movie series I could go back to, love watching, and feeling like a kid once more in a happy and excited place! Not only can kids enjoy it but the whole family, well worth the watch even just for the first. But I got attached to 1 through 10.
Note: Just a couple of months ago I went back and watched 1 through 5 and will do 6 through 10 on the holidays. That's how much I love it!
