90s IMAC
It was around mid – late 90s that I would see a model like this IMAC in the school library but not just one, no there was a bunch of them and why?
Why not only for people and us students to use in general and for work or to learn, but for… Zoombinis!
Us kids were crazy for it, we waited for lunch to go to the library and play Zoombinis plus some other games like Nanosaur (which I loved!).
This thing would have been pretty sturdy, though I doubt it could take too much before the plastic frame would crack or break and expose the rest. (Guess it should've been made by Nokia) 😂
Zoombinis
Logical Journey of the Zoombinis was the version we had and brought out in 1996. It was an educational game used to help develop skills in kids like problem solving, decision making, and more.
The goal was to play around with learning how to guide the Zoombinis through the mysterious land, back to Zoombiniville, but it provided a lot of educational benefits, fun, and was so cool to play in general with friends.
My memories
There were a few key memories for me.
First is as mentioned before, heading to the library at lunchtime in a rush, hoping to be one of the first to start up Zoombinis and have a fun time. But there was also Nanosaur which was not educational but just a really fun game at the time (which I didn't do the best in at times).
Another was learning how to play or pass certain stages/parts in Zoombinis with friends, helping each other which was a fun and rewarding experience in general. This would leave us in a really happy mood for the rest of the day, telling our parents about it when we got home.
