Boaters considering a 40, 50 or 60 horse power Mercury Outboard listen up! Significant price increases begin July 1 when tariffs on certain imported motors begin. While most Mercury Marine products are made here in the US, the 40, 50 and 60 horse motors are made overseas. The reason for this is that the demand for the 40-60 horse power motors is largest outside the US. It is much more cost effective to assemble them outside the US where they are purchased. So, boaters here in the states who want these motors will now have to pay the tariff. BUT here is the good news – you have a few days to buy your Mercury Outboard before the price goes up.
