As most cryptocurrency holders know, exchanges can be a gold mine for both the exchange and the investor. In fact, back in March of this year, Binance reached over $200+ million in profits from the exchange alone. Centralized exchanges can be controlled by the government and they have been. For instance, most people remember the FBI gathering information from CoinBase. Whether the governments shut down exchanges or ban privacy currencies, there is a need for decentralized exchanges in which governments can't shut down these exchanges.
