Steve Preisler, known as Uncle Fester because of his affinity for explosives in his college years much like the Addams Family character of the same name, is an author known for writing notorious books that are manuals for illicit activity. A Marquette university graduate with a degree in chemistry and biology, who was later arrested in the 80s for not only for methamphetamine possession but for obtaining ephedrine, a precursor for methamphetamine production. As a response to his arrest, Uncle Fester borrowed a typewriter from an inmate in prison to write the manuscript for Secrets of Methamphetamine Manufacture with the logic that if the government is going to incarcerate one meth manufacturer, then he will be the catalyst for creating thousands. The book was an instant success, even instructing readers on how to synthesize MDA and MDMA.
Since then he has written many books on illicit activities such as
