I got into a new home. The home caretaker gave a paper to fill it. I was looking for a pen with the paper in my hand and after looking for quite a while didn’t find anything. Then in the old paper bundle I found an old pen. When I was writing, I saw there is no ink. I jumped a bit, Nah! There is no ink left. But once upon a time I had different types of pen. Many memories of the pens started peeking in the head.
All of us who were in the age of 80-90, have started writing with an econo pen which costed 3 taka. On the side of the pen, there was a small extension and most of us would bite it off.
Ink from the econo pens would often use to come out from the pen, and for that reason the dense black spots were seen under the boys' shirts or pants pockets.
Writer pens could be seen alongside the econo pen. Writer pen design was a little different because it had a style cap and a changed tip. In the age of econo pen, the sudden arrival of 3.5 taka econo DX Pen was announced. The six-edged pen was wrapped in white with a change in the design of the cap.
There was a flax-tip-pen, where the tip would come out if pressed at the top and go inside if pressed again. The doctors could have found three four-cheeked tip-pen which the drug companies supplied them. Each time a different color would emerge.
Many used to use only the Red Leaf pen during the exam .The ink had a cotton at the top so no ink would roll out. The price of red leaf pen was 12 taka, and the price of each refill was 5 taka. It had refill system and could be found quite comfortably. cello Gripper, Reynolds these pens came to the market a few days later.
Pen Fight was quite a favorite at that time. Pen fights took place in the middle of the two period gap till the time sir came. Many people have had the experience of getting punished while doing this.
When the pen ink was over, the pen would be collected and stored. There was also many uses of it. The hook was made by adding a pen with another pen.When it was burst and if someone blew from the end a balloon like structure would emerge. The pen was burnt in the tungsten bulb and the paper weight was made.
Now is the time of typing. There is nothing to write with a pen. Now a letter is mailed instead of writing it by hand. Moreover econo, righter or econo dx are just a memory from the past and is rare these days.
