Today, I want to tell you a story that is in itself a mindset for when it comes to the way we interact with the world around us.
It is said that once, a few frogs had been passing through the forest when two of them fall into a well. The other frogs gather on top of the well and whisper amongst themselves as the two struggle to get out of the well. In spite of their solid efforts to get out of the well, the other frogs think that they have no chance. Some of them even go so much as to suggest that they should just give up and accept their doom.
‘It is in vain!’ Says one of the frogs,
‘No way they are getting out of that hole safe and sound!’ Goes another voice.
The two fallen frogs keep struggling nonetheless. As they are making the climb, the voices of the other frogs become louder and clearer.
‘Why are you still fighting?’
‘You have no chance. No chance of succeeding.’
Eventually, one of the frogs succumbs to this chant of madness and falls to his death at the very bottom of the well. The other frog manages to reach the top and save himself, much to the wonder and dismay of the other frogs.
‘How did you manage to do it?’ One of them asks.
‘But it was impossible!’ Another follows.
The frog stays silent. At the peak of their curiosity, the other frogs eventually learn that the frog who found his salvation was, in fact, deaf.
In our everyday life and on the road to success, we meet a lot of people whose voices are nothing but pale shadows of emptiness. The void of their energy distracts us from our path and reduces our speed in arriving at the place we want to be. This is inevitable, as most people you meet in life or those who are around you often find it hard to believe in the same dreams that have given you sleepless nights. Those people may not actually want you to fail, but it goes a long way for them to believe in the possibility of succeeding in a path of unexpected and unlikely things.
In their incessant babble of disapproval and negativity, the people around us take away the positivity that drives us forward and the hope that lights the passion in our hearts. Eventually, you will find yourself sucked into a whirlwind of this negative energy that will lead to your downfall.
You may not have the courage to distance yourself from those who would harm you in this way, as we discussed in a one of the previous posts, but the least you could do is try to be like the frog who saved himself, because he couldn’t (or wouldn’t) pay heed to the negativity that stood in his way.
Whatever you do in life and wherever you go, the negativity always finds a way to hunt you down, but have faith in your own will; It is up to you to decide whether you will pay attention to this storm of disapproval or disregard it completely and listen to the voice of reason that resides in your heart.
I have been working very hard on this blog since the beginning. I have a very busy life but I am giving my best and believe me I have shared experiences that I have been coaching thousands of people and I know that the change of the Mindset should be daily. I am already grateful to see you giving upvotes to each other and you can see this with the fact that many already have 8, 9, 10 upvotes. But I'm sure that with the effort of all of us we will see a community with, 40, 50, 80 upvotes and for that everyone should get engaged so we can make it come true.
