VOTING: discuss voting power, how to power up SP and how much, recovery time, and other aspects.
A great habit to get into when questions like 'What is my Voting power?' come to mind, is to reference the Steemit.com website and the 'faq' section there.

faq section for voting power
When we visit the faq section for voting power, we find an explanation about voting power that explains how each time you vote with 100% 'weight', 2% of your voting power will be used out of a possible 100%. Every 24 hours your voting percentage will 'recharge' 20%, if you dont vote in that 24 hour period. Based off these numbers, you will find that each 100% vote cast, really exhausts 2.4% or so of your voting power because of this, it is advised to only vote a maximum of 10 times in a 24 hour period at 100% voting weight, 20 times at 50% weight, 40 times at 25% weight and so on.
Your vote weight is a reflection of how much 'Mvests' or steem power you have invested with your steemit account. It is not to be mistaken for your voting power. Your voting power is a reflection of how often the Steem blockchain will allow you to distribute your share of rewards across the Steem blockchain in conjunction with how much 'Mvests' you hodl to reflect the value of your vote at certain voting percentages. Users with less than 500 steem power are forced to vote with 100% weight on the Steemit.com site but there are outside sites that allow for adjusted vote weights via a slider for minnows that are under 500sp.
Do you want a 'slider' or more 'voting weight'? Well, buy some steem and power it up. You can find the 'buy steem tab' in your steemit wallet.

Then once you acquire Steem simple go to your steem wallet and select the arrow and choose buy(if you still need to buy) or power up.

Wait, Steemit.com doesn't show me my Voting power. How can I tell what it is?
Great question! I personally enjoy using:

Other people enjoy:

https://steemd.com/@dynamicgreentk.
With @steemworld you can see the actual vote values in correlation with your current voting power percentage. This can be found in the top left corner of the site.
Did I miss something? Would you like for me to update this, then just ask and I will! This was just a simple classwork assignment. Im hoping this can provide some small bridges in information that the faq section is not clear on or encourages more people to look there first for Steemit questions! Thanks for reading!
