Hello Steemians
As you might be aware that yesterday, Steem release 0.19.0 (HF19) has been implemented. It has got lots of new changes, but the one which has made drastic changes is the update 1053. In short, this update has made each of your vote 4x more powerful, but also the consumption of your voting power has increased by 4x. This is like you can lift 4 times more weight, but you need 4 times more energy also!
That's the 4x lifting power I am talking about!! *1
So what has it changed in general:
A post which was worth $1 till yesterday is suddenly now worth $4, or in some cases even more. Like my post which earned $0.45 a day ago is now worth $3.60, without any extra upvote! And of course trending posts also now get much higher rewards. I really hope @ned and team employ a maximum limit on post rewards. Like maximum reward capped at $1k per post. Most users post daily, so a monthly 30k reward is not bad at all, when most other Steemians will be earning around $30-$100 per month. Don't you agree? How has it affected minnows, newbies:
Since now the amount of votes in hands has decreased (from 40 to 10 votes per day), minnows will have less chance to receive a vote. So if you are a loner, you might get way less votes than before. Also you will now get less upvotes on your comments, since there are just not enough votes around. Although members with 500+ Steem power (SP) can still adjust the voting slider to balance this change, but many members are below 500+ SP.
So all in all, things don't look great for minnows in the long term. This is why, now is the best time to join a group/pack/school/project etc. to get some motivation, guidance and assistance from the Steemit community.

I am listing some projects, which will help you achieve success in the changed scenario.
I) MinnowSupportProject and PALnet:
This is the highly recommended project which all minnows/newbies should join. This project was started by @aggroed and he is basically the face and force of this project (@benjojo provides the fuel to run this project!). It helps minnows to interact with other minnows, get some upvotes and guidance from elder members. They even have a curation trail, which means, once you summon their bot for an upvote, you literally get 10s of more votes from the members of this group.

PALnet is the discord (text and voice chat platform) server of this project, where you can actually meet the members of this group.
I will now explain the steps needed to join this project.
1) Join this discord server. If you are new to discord, you will be asked to make a new account.
2) After that go the registration channel and enter $register steemitusername. You will get 2 messages from bots Banjo and minnowsupport. Follow their instructions and send each of them 0.001 SBD. After it's done, you will be registered in the minnowsupportproject.
3) Now register yourself on Steemvoter.
- During the registration time, you may be asked to provide your Active Private Key. To get that, go to, Wallet>>Permissions>>Active. You will have to press the login to show button, enter your steemit password and then click show private key next to your active key.
- Click on Add Account and enter your steemit username and Private Posting Key. Private posting key can be fount adjacent to, Wallet>>Permissions>>Posting key.
- It will take some hours after which your account will be activated.
- After account activation, click on Rule and then add the following info as in the screenshot and click save rule.
5) After following all these steps, send the screenshot of Steemvoter (like I showed above) to @aggroed in discord.
6) Now you are ready to get some upvotes on your posts. Go to upvote-resteem channel and type $upvote UrlOfYourPost.
7) Hurray! Now you will get lots of upvotes on your post.
Some suggestions:
a) Although registering on Steemvoter and Streemian is not necessary to join minnowsupport project, it is highly recommended. In future, members who have registered on Steemvoter and Streemian and added minnowsupport as their curation trail will get access to premium autobots!!
b) The suggested time to get upvotes on your post from minnowsupportproject is after 20-30 minutes of publishing your post.
c) You can also read this minnowsupport guide in case you have some confusions.

II) Whaleshares:
This is another massive project for helping minnows. Here you won't get bot votes, but something more precious. If you are active enough in this community, then you may get whaleshares, which is a currency which you can trade for WHALE votes. And no points for guesses, that means a lot of rewards from just 1 upvote of a whale. This 1 upvote can land your post in hot or trending section also, which means a chain of rewards for you.

Steps:
1) Join this discord server.
2) Be active in the general channel and also participate in the contests in contests channel.
3) You can also join the voice channel, that is Adult Swim.
4) Follow @officialfuzzy and take part in his exclusive contests to win a ton of whaleshares.
5) Finally participate in @officialfuzzy Beyondthebitcoin hangouts on mumble. You can read the footer of this post on how to participate in these hangouts on mumble.
6) After you win some whaleshares, you can read this guide on how to use them.
Some suggestions:
a) Never ask for whaleshares in discord channel. Nobody is gonna give them to you! Earn them by the methods which I mentioned above.
III) Whalepower:
This is a tiny project in comparison to the above projects, but worth giving a try. So basically you add a tag #whalepower in your post tags and if your post is of high quality, then a whale @bullionstackers might comment and upvote it. You can follow @bullionstackers account to know more about this project.

IV) Some other helpful biggies:
There are some individual Steemians also who are helping the minnows in their own ways. The most popular of them are @papa-pepper, @teamsteem, @timsaid, @trafalgar, @joseph, @aggroed, @officialfuzzy, @ausbitbank, @patelincho and so many more. You will start recognizing them after spending more time on Steemit. I am also a newbie minnow here, and this process is ongoing. They may or may not vote for you, but keep on launching new contests to help you earn some steem, SBD etc. Also they are helpful in case you need any guidance.
A request:
This is a request to all Steemians. Now that our votes are more powerful and limited, it's time that we really think about whom to vote. Personally I am totally ignoring the biggies who don't give back to the community. Now my vote is important, and it should only go to the ones who create high quality original content and at the same time contribute their time to the community. Also I will try to avoid authors who post more than 2 times per day. There are of course some expectations like @papa-pepper, who are basically posting multiple times because they are running multiple contests for everyone. It's simply that we don't have enough votes to upvote multiple posts by the same author per same day.
