I remember one time on Olubunmi Mabel's page, someone was asking about abortion. I cannot remember the details now sha but people were sha advising her not to abort and all that. All for one person to appear from nowhere and said, she is sure all the people commenting have aborted before in their lives.
I was amused and shocked; amused that she actually needed to believe it that we all have aborted to make herself feel better. Well, I have never aborted for someone and no, I don't think I'm better than the one who has - provided it's in the past. What's past is in the past, as far as I am concerned and considering, I am not perfect myself, I will just be deceiving myself thinking I am better than anybody.
I was shocked that she confidently said it. So I asked her how she was able to come up with that figure. That was the first time I was seeing that name and I can't even remember the name now, so how was she able to figure out that I and every other person there has had an abortion before though.
You see, this is what I always say; complete misrepresentation of "do not judge." You cannot tell the world anything is wrong again, they will all come together to quote their favourite scripture to you.
But that is not even the point of this post. I strongly believe that nobody can advise you more on a certain thing like the one who has gone through it. Let's say we have all committed abortion, in my mind, that means we are the best people to speak against it because we have experienced it and know how it is wrong for you. If we don't love you, we will allow you do it and face the consequences. You think it's not easier to just let you fall into the pit we once fell into? My dear, fall away.
All these talk about "you once were", so you cannot advise me is foolishness. Nobody can advise you against prostitution like a former prostitute. Nobody can advise you against drunkenness like a former drunkard. Nobody can advise you against any form of addiction like a former addict and so on. If you scoff at them and shame them on their past, you are the one to lose, not them. The fact that they came out of it does not mean you would. So better sit down and learn, so you don't repeat the errors of those before you.
Like I always say, experience is the best teacher but it does not have to be your experience. Selah!
