Starting the design work!
Today we made a start on fleshing out the ideas we've had floating in our heads to end up with something more concrete.
The main thing is working out spacing and angles, we made the final decisions on certain design ideas and have a solid idea of what we are going to do. Now we just need to mock up everything in the think card we have and then it's on to fabricating.
I can safely say that there is not currently a Thermaltake Tower 900 that is going to be as extensively modded as this one. I've see some really nice one's on google image search but none that completely reconfigure motherboard locations and the internal design.
A Start at cleaning up mayhems mess.
As you can see from the image above, My GPU waterblock is a mess. This is after 4 months of use..
The culprit is Mayhems cleaning kit and coolent.. Even with the extensive rinsing we did after doing the Mayhems cleaning kit we still had strange reactions going on and my clear liquid ended up black from residuals left from previous fluid.
We decided to strip down everything and completely clean every last part we're going to reuse and this is before we run distilled water through everything to further clean everything. We're not taking any chances everything is getting flushed and cleaned multiple times.
As you can see above we managed to get it pretty clean, It took quite a bit of work and there are signs of damage to the nickle plating but it's very minor.
This is the complete block reassembled, Looks just as new as when we first got it minus some very minor damage on the nickle.
GPU cleaned,now we just have to do everything else, reservoir, pumps, fittings, radiators, then assemble them into a temp system and flush, flush and flush some more.
In my next post I'll detail more about the design we're going with and maybe even have the mock up completed.
