About Me
I am Joseph Ace Tigas, hailing from the Province of Cebu in Philippines. My family and friends call me Ace, while at work they call me Joe. I am 23 years old, a Registered Mechanical Engineer (RME) in my native country and currently working as Mechanical Design Engineer.
It’s been almost a month since I decided to join Steemit; and the very first thing I’ve worked on is doing contributions to Steemit’s one of the most successful pillars, to be specific – Utopian-io, contributing especially in Translations category. I had been translating for my national language, Filipino.
Why I am interested to be part of Utopian-io’s Team of Moderators?
Before I decided to submit my application, I joined the Discord channel of Utopian few weeks ago, and I made lots of observation. I was able to observe how many people are contributing to Utopian, especially in Translations category coming from different nationalities such as my fellow Filipinos, Turkish, Indonesians and etc. Day by day, the contributions are increasing exponentially and will always be increasing. And just recently Utopian-io decided to have quality contributions. With that, I volunteer myself to be able help moderate contributions with integrity and dignity. I know it would be a great task, but I’ll take it as a challenge, for I know I will learn and with all the learnings I have gathered I’d be able to impart it to my fellow contributors so that we all can achieve in making quality contributions for Open Source Projects.
And lastly, I would like to be part of @ruah’s moderation team. I know working under his supervision, will enable me to learn more and do more.
Why consider me as a Moderator?
Every day, I spend time both before work and after work doing translations, contributing as much as I can. With that I experience having my contributions being approved and sometimes being disapproved. With those disapprovals I had experienced, I learned a lot out of it. And I take it as an opportunity to grow and be able to continuously progress in making my contributions. And I know, I had a potential to impart my learnings to my fellow contributors.
