DISCIPLINE
Animals don't have discipline, they are driven by their instincts. They are driven by their cravings, they act spontaneously, they are irrational as they are controlled by present state affairs only.
The separating factor that distinguishes man from animals is his ability to control his innate instinct.
For a man that wants his life to be a stream of perpetual Victory and success, he has to be that man that has decided to leave the good place to the excellent place.
Understand this
Discipline is the subduing, control and mastery of your raw or basic instinct, drives, passion and desire through conscious training or practice to produce inner excellence.
Discipline is leaving the good for the excellent.
Discipline refers to the training(moulding and refining of character).
There are two things that can happen to a man, you are either
- Conformed
- Transformed
To be conformed is to allow the world, the elements, life experience, challenges and men around you shape you up. It is to allow external life affairs give you a mindset.
To be transformed is a case of internal metamorphosis which is birthed by a decision to improve and be better, where you give yourself a mindset irrespective of external views, where you are in control of your life.
Discipline is the training of character or behavior by the teaching, practice, instruction and exercise to conform to acceptable norms and standards.
Strict adherence or compliance to set or specific regimen or routine design to produce choice quality. Remember
your greatest enemy is you
Its the 20th day of the year, and we all set goals and standards at the beginning of the year. To reach your goal, you have to set the tones and standard. You must deny yourself many things that will keep you from winning.
THINGS TO NOTE
- Always do something about your purpose in life everyday.
- Put your body under control by delaying immediate gratification for long term gain.
- Train yourself to do things in advance. When you do things in advance you gain time.
In every aspect of your life, in your dress sense, eating habits, meetings and appointments bring some standards to it, and discipline yourself to reach it. Break your body like a horse.
A wise man once said the way you treat money is the same way you treat life,
incorporate financial discipline in your life.
