We have all experienced the dreaded earworm. This can come from constantly hearing a jingle on a commercial, or having that one song on your playlist that you simply can't start a drive without. And then, whether you like the song or not, you find it replaying itself over and over in your head until you finally give in and sing it with your chest. Currently, my overwhelming musical urge has come from the Netflix film "tick, tick...BOOM!"
Now this isn't going to be a review of the film, although I will say it was pretty incredible and I would highly recommend watching it: No, this is me openly admitting that I have a problem. This film's soundtrack is too damn catchy, and I can't stop singing it. Though I have a strong passion for music, I never found musicals to ever really be my cup of tea. I always found that it was just too corny for me to ever take seriously. But this, this caught me hook, line, and sinker
I watched the movie, enjoyed it, and thought to myself, "Wow, what a good movie, and catchy songs too!" And then I went to bed. I thought that was the end of that, but I was surely mistaken. I head in to work the next day, and I catch myself trying to remember the words to the song "30/90".
Odd.
I never like musicals, and yet, here I am. On my way home from work, now having spent all day thinking about the song I decided, "Well I might as well listen to it to get it out of my head," and boy was I wrong.
It has now been 11 days since this song has burrowed its way into my brain, and I have listened to it at least once every day. Just in writing this post, I have found myself singing the damn song in my head. Go watch the movie and you'll see. At first its simply a nice and catchy song. And then before you know it you're listening to it at max volume, just about screaming the words along, in 'remarkable fashion' if I might add.
