Back in September, we visited Puerto Rico for a house hunting trip to make absolutely sure we're ready for such a big move. We had a fantastic time, and I had some videos and pictures still on my phone I never got around to putting together, so here's a quick video from our trip in September, 2018:
We are going forward with the move and have booked our actual moving flight for December 4th, 2018. It's more than a little scary, to say the least. We don't know exactly where we'll be living as we didn't finalize anything yet (September being three months out from our planned move time in December made that a bit difficult). We got to see some really nice homes, as you can see in the video, and I wanted to give a special shout out to Ricardo Rodriguez, a realtor for Sotheby's International Realty:
He did a fantastic job of showing us around even though we're just little fish. He normally works with high-end clients from around the world for high value, luxury properties. As a favor to @sean-king and because Ricardo is a great guy, he showed us some beautiful homes more in our price range, as he did back in March as well, and made us feel right at home. I can't thank him enough for the time and attention he gave us. Please, if you know anyone looking for high-end property in Puerto Rico, definitely contact him through his Facebook page. It's so encouraging to know that not everyone is just chasing big dollars, but some people still care about just helping a family out. I've always liked the phrase, "if you help enough people, you'll never have to worry about money" and I think that's true for people like Ricardo.
We've been selling our things here in Nashville and getting ready, though we're also traveling out to the UK for a few days prior to Steemfest3 in Krakow, Poland. To say life has been a little crazy lately is an understatement. Once we get back, we'll have less than three weeks to get everything organized before the big move. The first week we'll be staying in an AirBnb, hoping to finalize a place to rent as we get settled. From there, we may purchase a place if we find a deal. Either way, it's going to be an adventure.
